How private-room entry works
A private-room owner receives a unique channel identifier and sets a six-digit passcode. Invited participants enter those details once in the app. When membership remains valid, the room can be saved for quick future access.
Receive the room details
The owner provides the channel code and six-digit passcode through a trusted method.
Enter once in the app
The participant chooses a registered nickname and joins the correct private room.
Return quickly
The channel remains available while the membership and room remain active.
Privacy and security boundaries
Voice traffic is encrypted in transit, and the access code and passcode limit who can enter. No internet service can promise absolute security. Owners should protect credentials, remove participants who no longer belong, maintain device security and install updates when offered.
Room ownership and participant control
Owners can invite trusted participants and manage room membership through supported controls. The service is designed to preserve durable participant identity so nicknames and memberships remain consistent across updates when the account remains valid.
Capacity
Supported private plans may allow up to 100 participants in one room. Current plan availability, billing and room management remain in the HamRadioList-hosted service and app account area.
